$26 an Hour, Part-time Caregiver in Private Home

Ideal job for a reliable student or any person desiring intermittent, supplemental income. Medical care facility or home caregiver experience helping the physically disabled is preferred, but I am willing to teach the tasks needed for the care of my friendly, male spouse who is disabled by multiple sclerosis (a neurological disorder that damages movement). Several, separate caregivers are needed to cover 2-to-3-hour shifts, primarily daytime, to ensure all day coverage, including some weekends. Occasional help is needed until 6:30 PM, depending on my work and travel schedule. Please review the requirements listed, and reply to the ad with your resume uploaded that includes two, recent work references, and days and hours available to work. One reference may be from a current or recent co-worker who has observed your skills, communication, and accountability.

Requirements: Caregiver is needed to assist male spouse to prevent him from falling when he transitions in and out of his wheelchair, and to help him with basic daily tasks. Caregiver must understand English, but it is not necessary to speak English fluently. Must be strong and have reliable transportation. Note: Trimet train stops and Trimet bus lines 15, 77 and 20 are nearby.

1. Physically able to assist spouse, height 6' 4” and weight 185 pounds, when he stands and pivots in-and-out of wheelchair, using a sit-to-stand-lift that he grips.

I can teach the easy instructions for the lift.

2. Meal prep and clean-up.

3. Non-smoker, and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol while working.

4. Must pass mandatory criminal back ground check that I pay for.
