Staffing Technologies has partnered with a community centric Dental Practice in their search for a Dental Hygienist in the Milwaukie, OR clinic. With a sustained commitment to improve the dental health of all individuals in Oregon, this will be a great opportunity to join a mission driven business dedicated to superior patient care.

This position will promote dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning and periodontal maintenance; provides oral cancer screenings; takes radiographs; charts existing conditions, decay and disease; performs procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.

Clinic hours Monday-Thursday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm

Pay Range: $45 to $52 per hour (depending on experience)

Primary Functions:

Prepare treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols

Prepares patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing and seating patient

Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests

Maintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment

Selects materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health

Completes dental prophys and periodontal scaling and root planning as appropriate

Completes periodontal charting and takes radiographs

Applies fluoride and other cavity-preventing agents as necessary

Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by cleaning and polishing removable appliances

Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies

Educates patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions

Documents dental hygiene services by recording vital sign and medical and dental histories; charting in patient records

Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential

Maintains safe and clean working environment; complies with procedures, rules, and regulations

Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols

Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follows manufacturer’s instructions; maintains equipment inventories

Maintains hygiene supplies inventory; places orders for supplies; verifies receipt of supplies

Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications

Other duties as assigned

Prepare treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols

Required Skills:

Registered Dental Hygienist with an active Oregon License

Follows ADHA Professional Code of Ethics

Two years dental office experience preferred

Dental practice management software experience helpful

BLS for Healthcare Providers

Participate effectively as a team player

Nitrous certification a plus

Digital radiography experience a plus

Excellent reading, oral and written communication skills

Ability to speak a second language helpful

Ability to interact professionally, patiently and courteously

Good problem solving and decision-making skills

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced clinic

Maintain confidentiality and project a professional business image

Ability to come to work on time and on a daily basis
