As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for medical services provided.

Job Duties

Insurance Verification: Verify patient eligibility and benefit details

Coding and Documentation: Review medical records to assign appropriate codes (CPT, ICD-10) for billing purposes

Process Medical Claims: Submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Patient Billing: Generate patient invoices, track outstanding balances, answer questions related to billing

Follow-Up: Monitor unpaid claims, submit appeals on denials, and resolve billing discrepancies

Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of outgoing claims and incoming payments

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or healthcare industry

Skills

Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, ICD-10)

Familiarity with billing software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent communication and problem solving abilities

Knowledge of insurance policies and claim submission processes

Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also being able to contribute as a part of the team
