Oregon, Hillsboro, 97123 Hillsboro USAWork ScheduleStandard (Mon-Fri)Environmental ConditionsCleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc allowed, Laboratory Setting, OfficeJob DescriptionHow will you make an impact?The Project Manager Beam Technologies coordinates and leads New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives for the volume production of new technology, manages sustaining project efforts to improve yield and reliability, and manages the overall project portfolio within the BeamTech Operations Engineering organization at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The group is responsible for smooth introduction of new products into the factory and field and for sustaining engineering support after transfer from design to volume production through the product end of life. This group collaborates closely with the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team, Product Marketing, R&D, manufacturing, logistics, purchasing, quality, and Global Technical Support groups within Thermo Fisher Scientific to ensure development and continuous improvement of profitable products according to the latest quality standards.What will you do?
Set standards for project scope, results and timelines to ensure completion in time for NPI project and sustaining project requirements. The project manager will also drive tasks for assigning resource allocation and removing barriers.
Manage, supervise and maintain capital expenditures on an annual basis.
Calculates capacity requirements needed for NPI roadmap and provides input for engineering resource plans.
Maintains templates for project reporting and coordinates timely project reviews with management.
Coordinates completion and quality of operations results for NPI activities.
Maintains visibility and alignment of BT Ops to the NPI product roadmaps, including emitter and column products designed by R&D.
Owns the beam tech engineering sustaining products project reviews.
Facilitates and may lead cross-team improvement and other operations projects from inception to completion.
Supports local and global Operations team in implementing strategies, including partnership with the other Thermo Fisher Scientific sites for projects
Other duties as assigned to support Beam Tech deliverables and initiatives.
EducationUniversity degree in a technical field, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Previous project management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. PMP certification highly preferred.Experience
Typically requires 3+ years of project management experience in high-tech industry environment.
Demonstrated experience managing cross-site and cross-functional projects and developing and leading teams.
Resolve issues that involve gaining agreement of cross-functional, multi-cultural groups and sites without damaging relationships, sometimes in pressure situations by gaining consensus and facilitating a collaborative environment.
Demonstrated ability to provide clear and concise analysis of data, systematic problem solving and basic experimental methods, test protocols and procedures that include multiple factors.
