Based in Grants Pass, Fire Mountain Gems and Beads is located in one of the most picturesque valleys of Southern Oregon. The Wild and Scenic Rogue River flows right through the heart of the city and outdoor activities are abundant, with rafting, fishing, hiking, skiing, golf, and many other adventures just minutes away from the Fire Mountain Gems and Beads headquarters. And, the beautiful Rogue Valley is ideally situated just a half-day drive away from either Portland or San Francisco, and an even shorter drive through towering National Forests to the breathtaking Pacific Ocean.

Position Summary:As a Lead Programmer Analyst, you’ll work in a collaborative environment to build, deploy, configure and support our Fire Mountain Gems and Beads Order Management Systems and Ecommerce Platform as well as the many systems that support it.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide technical leadership, create standards for technical approaches and/or software development practices for the full stack.
  • Exercise independent judgement while completing programming projects with minimal supervision.
  • Analyze scope of work and project objectives on strategic and priority projects.
  • Gather and analyze functional and technical specifications in accordance with software industry standards.
  • Lead and collaborate with fellow developers and cross-departmental teams to create innovative solutions for complex projects, providing technical direction to other personnel.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications and system integrations.
  • Provide off-hours support on a rotational on-call basis.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • 7+ years of professional software-development experience
  • Fluent in several of the following:
    • C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, and WPF
    • MVC, MVVM or other Web Frameworks
    • Web Services (REST, WCF, WebSockets)
  • Proven history of delivering large-scale projects from conception to completion
  • Strong relational database experience (MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server preferred)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner to groups with varying levels of technical expertise

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
  • Knowledge of Order Management Systems and Fulfillment processes desired.
  • Experience with Ecommerce, Marketing and Content systems
