Lead Microbiology Laboratory Technician

Soil testing laboratory is seeking a full time Lead Laboratory Technician.

Experience in a laboratory setting is required.

Job Description:

Elements of this position include, but are not limited to: direct microscopy of soil organisms, sample preparation, and data entry. This position will require you to clean and maintain equipment, such as microscopes, test tubes, plates, and pipettes. You will also prepare and analyze samples, prepare and create buffers, conduct various experiments, and be responsible for reading all samples to be sent as a report to our clients.

This person must be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented. We pride ourselves on attention to detail, and our clients rely on our meticulous nature. Additionally, this person must be able to work independently, as well as function in a team setting. Requirements:

Knowledge of chemical handling and storage

Ability to take measurements, document work, and maintain laboratory records

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Understand laboratory processes, such as dilutions and filtration

Perform routine procedures and analysis in compliance with methods, protocols, and established SOPs

Sit/stand for long periods of time during lab work

15% of the time, this position will require you to lift items up to 45 lbs

Read and accurately follow pre-established laboratory standard operating procedures

A degree in microbiology or soil science is preferred, but not required.

Compensation:

Salary $2600/month.
