Entry Level Caretakers Wanted for Life Launch Team!
Oregon, Corvallis/albany, 97330 Corvallis/albany USALife Launch Direct Support Professionals focus on providing people with I/DD essential attendant care supports in an employment setting within the general workforce. Unlike traditional employment services, this role is tailored for individuals who don't require job training but need personalized supports to ensure success. A Life Launch DSP will also provide Tapestry services that are opportunities that encourage personal growth and creativity. The Life Launch Department expands services to provide intentional community-based supports. We break free from typical operating hours, offering flexibility and empowering individuals to achieve their desired goals.
Location: Marion & Polk County (With regular travel to PCL locations).
Position Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt.
Wage: $19/hour

Basic Requirements:
-Must be at least 18 years of age (Diploma/GED not required).
-Be able to regularly lift a minimum of 25 lbs (some shifts require more).
-Be able to be certified and maintain an acceptable level of certification in Oregon Intervention System (OIS).
-Be able to be certified and maintain certification in CPR/First aid.
-Pass a state/federal Criminal history and protective service investigation check, this may include being fingerprinted.
-Pass a pre-employment drug screen for the use of illegal substances in Oregon.
-Possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
-Basic computer skills - computer assessment will be administered before hiring.
-Attend a two week in-person paid orientation training in Monmouth, OR.
Life Launch Specific Supports:
-Life Launch DSPs will be providing a combination of OTJAC and Tapestry supports based on the referrals received.
-Provide On the Job Attendant Care (OTJAC) supports in various community businesses. OTJAC supports are health related supports provided for people who need attendant care supports but not specifically employment services. These are ways to help someone be successful and is not teaching them new parts of their job.
Some examples of OTJAC supports are:
-Guiding individuals to stay on task with job duties.
-Offering aid during breaks and lunches.
-Providing physical assistance in the restroom.
General DSP Supports:
-Monitoring assigned caseloads and assisting with designing weekly schedules to ensure adequate staffing is in place to meet people’s needs.
-Develop and maintain relationships with community businesses and other locations in which people are being supported.
-Respect and protect the confidentiality and privacy of the people supported.
-Knowing, understanding, and implementing all Positive Behavior Support Plans and other specific positive behavior and health supports.
-This is a position on a new development team. At this time, being able to work a very flexible schedule with the ability to make last minute changes is an important part of this position. There is the potential for a structured and consistent schedule at a later time.
