Summer Art Instructor (1-3 days per week)

Wondery is a beautiful space to create for kids, families and adults (ages 2 and up) located in Southwest Bend. Our studio features a variety of creative spaces including a main visual arts studio, ceramics studio and little artists (toddler) studio. Throughout the year we provide art camps for kids, classes and open studio sessions.

Overview

We are currently hiring instructors to join us part-time (1-3 days per week) for our current summer programming. Our Summer Camps are Monday through Friday from 9am-3pm for ages 4-6 and 5-11. This position is a good fit for someone who loves art and creativity and wants to support kids in their creative process.

Responsibilities include:

-Work as a part of a team to create a magical summer camp experience for children through implementing plans for art activities, games and outdoor adventures

-Guide children through the creative process by asking process-focused questions, inspiring their imaginations and empowering them with instruction to develop new skills

-Prep activity materials for the week

-Maintain a program culture of joy, willingness to take creative risks and celebration of the creative processes of each artist

-Develop positive relationships with children and families

-Organize and clean the studio after camp to ensure the space is ready for the next day and build a culture of caring for the studio with children

-Capture photos for our social media/website and upload them to a shared album after camp

-Monitor supply inventory and make supply requests in a timely manner to keep the program stocked with general art supplies and specific project-based supplies

-Attend staff meetings

Qualifications

-Prior experience working with school-age children

-Experience with a range of media and a love for creative play

-Background check
