Description Robert Half is looking for a Collections Specialist for the Tulsa area! The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing the collection process efficiently and effectively. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Contacting customers to collect outstanding payments via phone, email, and mail.

Resolving billing discrepancies and disputes in a timely manner.

Negotiating payment plans and settlements with customers as needed.

Monitoring accounts receivable aging and prioritizing collection efforts.

Identifying delinquent accounts and initiating appropriate collection actions.

Recording and updating customer payment information accurately in the accounting system.

Generating aging reports and collection activity reports for management review.

Providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive relationships with customers.

Working closely with sales and customer service teams to address customer issues and concerns.

Recommending process improvements to streamline the collections process and reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).

Assisting with month-end closing processes related to accounts receivable.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred.

Proven experience in collections or accounts receivable.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Experience with accounting software and CRM systems preferred.

Knowledge of collection laws and regulations.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar industry or environment.

Certification in credit and collections (e.g., Certified Credit and Collections Professional).

Familiarity with skip tracing techniques.

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
