We are looking for someone who enjoys using technology to solve problems and is an enthusiastic learner. The ideal candidate will have ESRI ArcPro experience, specifically in the regulated pipeline space. We would prefer someone with a knowledge base of pipeline data, but it is not a necessity. This position requires a great deal of teamwork, and a successful candidate will be one who holds themselves and their teammates accountable to a standard of excellence and continuous improvement.Job Profile SummaryProvide basic mapping services to various business segments utilizing Geographical Information Systems (GIS) data and/or software applications.Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Assist with gathering data from multiple sources in order to develop or maintain the following including but not limited to: standard and ad hoc map production, maintenance of GIS data, one-call reporting, tax rendering, operations permit filing and DOT and state regulatory reporting
Maintain all pipeline information that has geospatial coordinates utilizing GIS and mapping software, create and update spatial features from various sources (survey data, digitizing, ILI data or measuring of pipeline stationing)
Gather data related to pipeline activities from business segments, field employees or third party vendors and enter data into GIS systems and databases
Maintain and refine existing map databases to reflect the latest data
Use existing work processes and system capabilities related to GIS applications to solve routine or standard problems
Assist with providing GIS training and technical support to field analysts and other GIS users
Implement solutions and process changes developed by senior staff
Under the direction of senior staff, conduct reviews of data and work products to verify compliance with regulatory requirements, quality assurance programs, standards and procedures
Provide information and assistance to external contacts including engineering, survey companies and one-call vendors
Work with and maintain data within existing geospatial databases
Convert data received from internal and external sources to make them usable for the GIS team
Provide data sets and map products to support geospatial analysis
Maintain data flow to and from GIS applications to other work applications
Organize and perform research on company systems of record for information to revise and update GIS data sets
Education
Bachelor's Degree in GIS or related field or a combination of formal education and the following job related experience
Work Experience
Experience and/or working knowledge or experience with regulatory requirements for pipeline industry as well as company standards and procedures
Knowledge and/or training related but not limited to:
Coordinate systems and map projections
Development and formatting of standard databases
Acquiring data, integrating with GPS; analyzing data
Source, acquisition, projection or re-projection, accuracy, quality and storage of aerial photography
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: applicable GIS-related software
Ability to: read, interpret and/or prepare written information including but not limited to: right-of-way information, maps, blueprints and legal descriptions.
Ability to: apply decimals and percentages, as well as trigonometric, geometric and algebraic formulas.
Ability to: communicate and/or exchange information and instructions; conduct oral presentations and/or meetings
