AML/BSA Analyst

Description Robert Half Management Resources is currently looking for an AML/BSA Analyst to support a Financial Services client based in Columbus, Ohio. This contract role will serve in an interim capacity covering for an employee on leave for about 4 months. The role involves performing AML/KYC investigations, writing and filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and other tasks related to anti-money laundering and bank secrecy act compliance. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with the below tasks, and a CAMS certification is desired. This role can be performed 100% remotely, but must work a 9-5 EST schedule daily.Responsibilities: Carry out comprehensive reviews, analyses, and investigations to identify potential suspicious or fraudulent activities, including money laundering and terrorist financing. Perform research and negative news searches on counterparties using external source records such as public records, social media, and the internet. Document investigative steps within case records, make recommendations on decisions to file or not file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). Draft clear and concise narratives to support the disposition of individual case investigations. Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to be filed with FinCEN in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Maintain confidential case management records and referrals in accordance with regulation and policy. Initiate information sharing requests on behalf of the Point of Contact in accordance with Section 314(b) of the USA PATRIOT Act. Be adaptable and open to constructive feedback given the regulatory nature of the work. Use Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook, and familiarity with Patriot Officer® transaction monitoring software and Nexis Diligence™ is a plus. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.Requirements A minimum of 3 years of experience in a banking or financial services environment. Demonstrated knowledge of BSA - Bank Secrecy Act. Proficient understanding of AML - Anti Money Laundering regulations. Prior experience with Suspicious Activity Reporting. Familiarity with FinCEN regulations and guidelines. Knowledge of USA Patriot Act and its implications in banking. Experience in Fraud Investigation in a banking or financial context. Understanding of Correspondent Banking and its associated risks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
