Software Development Engineer Intern

Job DescriptionJoin as an intern with our Platform Security Engineering team in Intel Product Assurance and Security group. You will be working with other team members to explore, innovate and build techniques towards security solutions. These include analyzing platform security vulnerabilities and to detect malware impacting software applications. The focus area of this position will range from Security Research and Software Development.Responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

Research and develop proof-of-concept attacks that bypass existing protection mechanisms.

Design and develop the tools and processes to collect malware behavioral data from OS, VM and CPU.

Research and propose machine learning based solutions to detect behavioral anomalies and to detect prevalent and emerging malware/exploit attacks.

Prepare and present technical reports on the research results

QualificationsThe candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.Minimum Qualifications :The candidate must be pursuing a B.S or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering or related field.Minimum of 2 months of experience in at least one of the following areas:o Offensive research and exploit development.o Reverse engineering and malware analysiso Sandbox and automated malware replication

Experiences with penetration testing frameworks, e.g. Metasploit, Cobalt Strike, etc.

Strong programming skills in C, C, and python

Knowledge in OS, compilers and x86 architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge in Intel HW features such as VT, PMU, PT, LBR

Familiarity with machine learning, behavior detection.

This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
