In this role, you are accountable for the coordination of material, equipment, manpower, quality and meeting production schedules and customer satisfaction. Major responsibilities include directing the work of others, problem solving and resolution and coordination with support departments including off shifts. In addition, the Senior Production Manager determines budget requirements, cost savings project plans, forecasting production needs and ensuring quality standards are maintained.What will you do:
Manage staffing, development, and performance management programs for operations staff; managing, motivating, and developing management team.
Oversee operations activities, ensuring that safety, and schedules and performance requirements are met and systems resources are used effectively.
Drive improvements for overall operations performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.
Drive improvements for overall operations performance and implementing production safety, cost and quality control mechanisms.
Ensure the compliance of all regulatory guidelines, safety policies / process and operations excellence.
Audit and report on safety, Quality, Certification, standard work, productivity, and overall equipment effectiveness metrics
A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:
Performance Management : Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies : Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
Manufacturing Operations : Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.
Manufacturing Safety : Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, the environment and site.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
Bachelor’s degree or 7 years in progressive manufacturing management role.
Proven cross functional leadership.
Extensive Project Management experience.
An extensive knowledge of assembly processes and tools, manufacturing operations, and related areas.
Strong business acumen and proven excellent decision making.
Demonstrated ability to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes.
