Airline Crew Backup Shuttle Driver – Flexible Schedule (1099)

Simple driving work transporting airline crew between the airport and nearby hotels. Set routes, predictable pay, no random passengers.

Vehicle, fuel, and insurance provided.

Position begins January 1, 2026.

Schedule

This operation is 24/7/365. An ideal candidate will act as a backup driver to the primary full time driver. This means covering part time shifts each day, full days once or twice per week, and some holidays.

Schedule will fluctuate by the day and even by the hour, but follows the same basic format:

You will choose to cover one of the following blocks (1-3 trips) each day

Early morning block (approx. 4-7am)

Late night block (approx. 9pm-midnight)

You will also choose to cover 1-2 full days per week (such as Saturday and Sunday, expect 8-12 trips spread throughout the day)

Occasional busy travel holiday or additional full day work may be available/required

Pay

$20/trip (about 30 minutes of driving per trip) with increases considered once reliability is proven.

Paid weekly via electronic transfer or cash. 1099 contractor position.

Cash tips can be expected based on service, friendliness, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Show up on time, EVERY time, no exceptions

Safely operate a 15-passenger van

Pick up and drop off airline crew at RDU and hotel locations in Durham

Load/unload crew luggage

Communicate clearly via cell phone with manager, passengers, and airlines

Fuel vehicle at preferred stations and keep clean

Maintain a professional appearance

Provide additional shift coverage when needed

Requirements

Dependable and willing to commit to a schedule

2+ years of driving experience (rideshare, delivery, passenger transport, or truck driving preferred)

Valid NC driver’s license

Excellent driving record (minor violations considered case-by-case)

Able to pass a background check and motor vehicle report
