DescriptionThe Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is currently pursuing new opportunities and has openings for an Infrastructure Engineer to work in Multiple Locations. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Development, Application, and Training (EDAT) mission. In this mission we are focused on providing innovative, data-driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enableseamless operations across USSOCOM's global network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to enhance the mobility and readiness of Special Operations Forces(SOF) in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Key tasks include program management, application development, training support, and technology integration to maintain USSOCOM's operational edge.The EDAT program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring SOF professionals have access to the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements.These positions will be onsite. Candidates need to be located near Tampa, FL, San Diego, CA, or Fayetteville, NC to be considered.Primary Responsibilities.

Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient IT infrastructure to support USSOCOM’s operational requirements.

Lead infrastructure modernization efforts, including the integration of hybrid cloud environments and containerized solutions.

Ensure infrastructure aligns with the SOF Information Environment (SIE) and supports global operations.

Perform system upgrades, patch management, and routine maintenance to ensure high availability and reliability.

Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure components, addressing performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and operational challenges.

Implement security measures in accordance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG), NIST frameworks, and DoD policies.

Apply Zero Trust principles and secure infrastructure designs to protect sensitive data and systems. Collaborate with development, data science, and program management teams to ensure infrastructure supports application and operational needs.

Integrate DevSecOps tools and practices into the infrastructure to streamline development and deployment pipelines.

Create detailed infrastructure documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration details, and operational procedures.

Provide technical support and training to operational teams to ensure effective infrastructure use and management.

Basic Qualifications.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Additional training and years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

The following relevant certifications may be required: CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)Certified Information Systems Security, Professional (CISSP) or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).

Proficiency in managing physical and virtual server environments, including VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent platforms.

Experience with networking concepts, firewalls, routing, and switching, as well as cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

Must possess a Top Secret (TS) clearance.

Familiarity with DoD security standards and frameworks, including DISA STIG and NIST 800-53.

4-7 years of relevant experience, including exposure to hybrid cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Expertise in cloud-native infrastructure, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.

Experience with enterprise storage solutions, high-availability systems, and disaster recovery planning

Familiarity with USSOCOM’s operational needs, including OCONUS deployments and hazardous duty/combat zones.

Experience supporting DoD programs with strict security and compliance requirements. For senior roles, demonstrated ability to lead infrastructure projects and mentor junior team members.Strong collaboration skills to align infrastructure operations with program goals and support cross-functional teams.

Ability to identify gaps in existing infrastructure and propose innovative solutions to enhance performance and security.

Experience in conducting system performance assessments and capacity planning to anticipate future needs.
