About the Position:
We are seeking someone with a passion for asset management, site safety and machine maintenance to join our team as a Mechanical and Maintenance Lead.
You will work closely with their counterpart site Operation Managers to effectively run the entire farm and distribution facility.
This is a full-time, onsite position, based out of our Fort Mill, S.C facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department Management.
- Fleet Management
- Property Management: HVAC, plumbing, irrigation, wells and electric basic repairs and maintenance for greenhouses and houses.
- Ensures safety on all projects, inspection and training is performed.
- Analyze hazard, cost and develop mitigation plans.
- Investigates incidents and reports them on time and develops actions to correct or prevent reoccurrence. Skilled to respond during emergencies and repair season.
- Perform scheduled service and maintain detailed records of vehicle inspection and parts.
- Fleet knowledge must be focused on heavy equipment mechanical performance, including: trucks, trailers, belt presses and agricultural equipment (farm tractors, hydraulic systems, diesel engines and wheel loaders).
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, recondition, and service equipment systems and components.
- Maintenance and Facility: Keep chemicals, parts and equipment on stock with value.
- Inventory System: Responsible for parts, equipment, machines and chemical inventory to maintain facilities for operations.
Competencies and Qualifications:
- Must have a Driver's License and reliable transportation (required)
- Willing to travel up to 25% (required)
- Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred), with effective communication skills
- 2+ years of experience with fleet management (John Deere, tractors, Bobcats, forklifts, etc.)
- 1+ years of experience (or equivalent) of electricity, plumbing, and A/C and heater maintenance (Required)
- 1+ years of property maintenance experience
- Analytical and inquisitive; not afraid to ask questions or offer new ideas
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Self-starter; works well under pressure with time-sensitive projects
- Can work with Windows-based software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Google Suite
- Willingness to work weekends, as needed.
- Ability to work in inclement weather
Other Requirements:
- Ability to learn and apply contractor management.
- Ability to learn and apply security protocols.
- Ability to obtain SC Pesticide applicators license.
- Willing to help in other areas depending on the time of the year/season.
- Able to repetitively bend, stretch, reach, lift, stand, and walk with unrestricted motion.
- Able to remain on your feet for most of the day. Can lift 50 pounds or more with or without accommodation.
