Be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, approving, and underwriting routine individual consumer requests and products with few deviations and within company and industry guidelines
Be responsible for making calls and/or receiving calls from either, existing card customers about a line increase or from new customers requesting a Wells Fargo credit card
Review credit applications, credit bureau information, collateral valuation, tax returns, financial statements, or other supporting documentation to recommend or approve requests within deaccessioning authority levels by way of automated scoring system or traditional underwriting
Assist with the calculations and preparation of reports for review
Respond to customer inquiries and credit decisions
Ensure credit files are current, complete, and compliant with company standards
Contact customers and partners to gather information to make appropriate decisions, and explain rationale behind credit decisions
Present recommendations for resolving situations and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of the Underwriting role
Provide information to team, managers, and customers to related inquiries
Load balancing / cross-functional training
Customer interaction (inbound/outbound calls)
Assist with resolution to executive office complaints
Re-evaluations/appeals
Second Level Review
First party fraud prevention
Tax Review Analysis
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of underwriting, loan processing, originations, or closing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Credit card underwriting and/or Personal Lending underwriting experience
Home Equity experience
Manual, judgmental, or non-conforming underwriting experience
6+ months training or leadership experience
1+ year of customer call center experience
Basic Microsoft Office skills
Job Expectations:
Obtain delegation of authority within 60 days of start date
Training will be 10am-7pm EST for 5 weeks (tentative).
Schedule after training will be 11am-8pm EST. Schedule will include working every 4th Saturday
Hours may change due to business needs and may include weekends, overtime and hours beyond 7:00pm
