Wanted: Foreman's assistant/construction crew member (full-time)

Asheville Drainage is hiring for a Foreman's Assistant position in Asheville! This is a full time (5 days a week). This job will begin asap, and as with most landscaping jobs, the work is weather dependent. We typically work straight through the winter and only not work during snow/rain events. We are a small crew, and do a wide variety of types of jobs, for example, residential and commercial drainage installations, install rainwater harvesting systems for potable and irrigation, small grading jobs, plumbing, irrigation, drainage systems, small patios and hardscaping, some concrete work and tapping springs.

This role is for the foreman assistant for our Residential crew. You are expected to be an assistant to the foreman, in whatever he may need done.

The ideal candidate will have experience running landscape and construction jobs start to finish. You should be able to lift 80lbs, be able to work all day with a shovel, be able to learn fast and be crafty and good with your hands. You should be a quick learner and be able to repeat complex tasks after seeing them only a few times. Previous landscaping and/or construction experience is required. You must have your own transportation to get to our lot or to jobs. Bonus if you have experience operating equipment.

To be clear, this job has a lot of physical labor involved. Most of our jobs are in Asheville or North Buncombe county, occasionally we have jobs in Haywood, McDowell, and Madison County. We maintain a positive, collaborative work environment. There will be a lot of digging, plumbing, drainage, and some irrigation, tapping springs, installing cisterns. We get to use heavy machinery sometimes too.
