Arborist/ Ground Worker

ArborCare is looking for a year-round tree Ground Worker with a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in the tree care industry.

Tree Ground Worker Duties may include:

Hauling wood and brush from the tree to the truck, using various hand and power tools, assisting tree climbers, and cleaning the job site

Gathering brush and feeding brush into woodchipper

Using a chainsaw to cut brush, logs and stumps of larger trees

Servicing truck, chipper, and equipment, and maintaining them in a neat, clean, and specified mechanical state

Working on un-level ground

Working in all temperatures and weather and being exposed to nature

Performing other related work, as assigned by supervisors

Requirements include:

Must be able to prune and remove trees in a safe manner while utilizing machinery

Self-motivated individual able to work well with a team of co-workers

Experience with safe operation of chainsaws and other pruning equipment

Excellent work habits and organizational skills

Good communication and customer service skills

ISA Certified Arborist status, and/or CDL highly desirable but not required

Minimum Requirements

Must be able to wear necessary PPE

Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments

Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment

Clean driver's license

Given the dangerous nature of the work required, employees must be able to maintain strict attention and concentration for extended periods of time

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift, move and maneuver weights of 10 pounds frequently, and weights of up to 50 pounds

Gripping

Climbing

Climbing on and off truck

Balancing

Pulling and pushing
