We care for your career while caring for the community.SUMMARYRecovery Specialist provides educational, clinical and supportive peer services to PROS, ACT and Youth & Family recipients. The Recovery Specialist serves as a role model/educator/advocate for the department and assists members in obtaining recovery goals. The position requires good working knowledge of Peer Support/Self Help resources as well as Behavioral Health recovery process.STATUS: Per Diem (10 month position. 16-20 hours/week)LOCATION: Edison Tech High SchoolDEPARTMENT: School Based Health CenterSCHEDULE: DayATTRIBUTESHigh school diploma/GED required. Bachelors in Human Service Field, Business or related field preferred. One year experience in facilitating groups (WRAP, Taking Charge, Self-Help), or One year experience in teaching and modeling self-help groups, or One year Peer/Recovery Specialist - training or relevant experience of support & training. Working knowledge of Peer Support/Self Help resources as well as Behavioral Health recovery process. Demonstrated ability to maintain boundaries and to appropriately and willingness to self-disclose MH/CD experiences for purposes. Youth & FamilyProgram: Has lived experience as a parent or primary caregiver who has navigated multiple child-serving systems on behalf of their child(ren) with social, emotional, developmental and/or behavioral healthcare needsPossess a credential from, or are provisionally credentialed as a Family Peer Advocate by an OMH-approved credentialing programRESPONSIBILITIESParticipates as a full member of an interdisciplinary team. Facilitates individual and group peer support services Completes required documentation as per program guidelines.Implement skill building opportunities for peers. Facilitate monthly Consumer Advisory Council meeting (dept).Provide Peer Training, facilitator training.Establish peer support network and natural supports resources for members.Participates in and incorporates professional supervision and ongoing education.Provides new members orientation to the PROS program.ACT Program: Provides education about self-help techniques.ACT Program: Teaches effective coping strategies, symptom management.ACT Program: Assists in the development of community support systems and networks.ACT Program: Participates as member of the clinical teams on-call rotation.Youth & Family Program: Coach families on how to advocate for themselvesYouth & Family Program: At the point of intake, assess their own resources for services (such as transportation, respite, child care, etc.)Youth & Family Program: Assist families in identifying parenting skills which could be strengthened and modeling these skills.Youth & Family Program: Assists families with navigating complex education and service systemsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.PAY RANGE: $17.25 - $21.50The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
