Vortex Consulting is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our client, one of the top growing companies in the Rochester area.Position Responsibilities: • Installing, maintaining, tuning, debugging, & performing the daily administration to keep computer systems running and applications functioning.• Virtual Environment provisioning, troubleshooting and support.• Oversight, management and administration of operating systems, desktops/servers/devices, storage, and applications (LAN/WAN), data/databases and/or information security.• Backup/restore and disaster recovery support for infrastructure & hosted solutions.Education and Experience: Associates degree with a minimum 2 years’ job related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.• Experience or technical focus to include one or multiple areas such as:

Server, storage & OS
Network, LAN/WAN
DBA/data architecture
Desktop
Information security

Ability to be on call 24x7x365 and/or rotate through• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Good judgment to involve and communicate with vendors, senior level technicians, and management• Excellent attention to detail
