Looking for Patternmaker/Seamstress

I'm Alicia, the Founder/Design Director of the NYC clothing brand Luisa et la Luna.

I'm currently looking for a Freelance skilled patternmaker to createsample patterns formynew designs for my new collection.

In this role you will be required tocreate paper pattern templates and design the final pattern for the first prototype sample our next collection. Ideally, I'm also looking for a seamstress who can sew the final samples.

Patternmaker Responsibilities:

Meeting withdesigners to discuss the base design.

Reading and interpreting sketches silhouettes.

Creating rough-draft templates using paper patternand/or freehand techniques or draping techniques.

Measuring, cutting, and designing patterns in the material required.

Double-checking the pattern dimensions and style.

Meeting with designers to review the final product.

Tweaking the pattern ad make adjustments if needed to fit the design.

Patternmaker Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.

Previous experience as a Patternmaker.

Ability to read and interpret sketches and design models.

Experience with measuring, snipping, milling, and cutting tools.

Detail-oriented.

Ability to work to a deadline.

Sewing Responsibilities:

Seamstresses should be proficient in hand-sewing, machine sewing, and various techniques like hemming and seaming. They also need to be able to construct garments to designer's specifications.

Seamstresses often work directly with designers, so they need to be able to communicate effectively.

This includes understanding what clients are asking for, making suggestions, and communicating clearly.

Sewed according to quality standards

Repaired and tailored customers' and accessory items using industrial sewing machines.

Looking for a experienced seamstress with knowledge on alterations and new garments manufacturing.

She need to have knowledge on her own but be able to work under supervision. The position is seasonal with possibilities of permanent.
