Paint & Sip Studio New York in Manhattan on the Upper West Side combines acrylic painting instruction with beer and wine. We host 2 hour nightly events and some day events during which patrons will receive step-by-step instruction on a particular painting while socializing in a fun, vibrant yet relaxing BYOB atmosphere. The sessions are a party atmosphere as opposed to a formal art class. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Seeking artists with a flexible schedule who are available to instruct Friday and Saturday nights; Monday through Friday mornings, afternoon and evenings; and Saturday and Sunday mornings and evenings. If you are only available weekday or weekends that is okay - please apply.

Both positions will also include travel parties at offsite location

Both positions require the Artists to teach a painting step by step to a group of up to 30 people (while painting the painting)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our expectation is for all "Lead Instructors" on our team to be able to instruct in front of groups of up to 30 people.

As the instructor, you will be the primary person teaching the class how to paint the painting. For a 2 hour session, you will be teaching the class step by step how to paint a pre-assigned painting while painting that painting yourself. You will be given the step by step instructions in advance, and will need to prep such that you can teach the class as a "natural". During the class you will be the instructor but will also be encouraging the group to have fun and enjoy themselves. You will arrive one hour before the class to set up and meet and greet the patrons and will stay 1 hours after the class to clean the brushes and the studio, and get it ready for the next session.

The time commitment for each session is 4 hours. Many of our sessions are at nights/weekends. We also have some day sessions (on Weekdays and Saturday/Sundays). We are looking for instructors that can work somewhere between 1-5 days a week.

Availability for offsite parties.

COMPENSATION:

You will be paid $27 per hour (typical session is 4 hours). There are additional ways to earn income by painting paintings for our painting library.

QUALIFICATIONS: (most of the following):

1. Ability to be reliable and timely

2. Quick understanding of how to recreate and teach our paintings

3. Over 21 years old

4. Experience teaching art (especially to groups, but 1-on-1 instruction also good)

5. Acting Experience is a plus

6. Studying art at the college level, BFA or some formal training in the arts (ok if you're a current student or recent grad)

7. Outgoing, personable, energetic & fun - yet very serious and committed to the job, punctuality and reliability.

8. Team player

9. For the children's sessions experience with teaching children.
