Service Technician

Job Summary:

Energo, a leading provider of energy supply, energy efficiency, and preventative, routine and emergency heating service to residential and commercial properties, is seeking positive, goal-oriented Service Technicians. Our Technicians operate in a fast paced 24/7, 365 company, and are an integral part of our organization. Become part of a team of Technicians serving our customers throughout the New York metro area. Technicians will be based out of our Woodside, NY office, and will service our residential customers, schools, municipalities, and large commercial accounts.

Candidate must possess excellent customer service, communication, listening, time-management skills, and be a team player.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

-Respond to customer service requests related to mechanical issues with the domestic hot water or space heating equipment of their equipment, and work alongside and assist other employees in completing assigned work orders

-Troubleshoot & repair mechanical heating equipment and their associated systems

-Troubleshoot & repair electrical wiring, relay logic, safety circuits, electronic boards for boilers and combustion failures

-Direct hands-on experience and working knowledge in troubleshooting steam, hot water boilers, burners (gas & oil), associated control systems, electrical combustion, heat pumps and associated piping systems

-Start-up & commission new replacement boiler systems including expansion tanks, pumps etc.

-Calibrate and adjust burner controls to obtain optimal boiler/burner performance

-Experience servicing and maintaining Gas & Oil Burners

-Experience servicing and maintaining Atmospheric, Condensing and Scotch Marine Fire Tube Boilers

-Proficiency in boiler/burner controls including Honeywell, Fireye, Siemens Link-ageless, Power Flame, etc.

-Understanding of building automation system interaction with boiler operation & controls of equipment

-Comprehension of commercial/industrial HVAC building systems such as operating controls, heating controls, oil to gas boiler conversions, boilers, pumps/motors, distributed cooling/heating, replace hot water heaters and radiators

-Perform Boiler cleanings, as necessary

-Perform diagnostic operations to determine opportunities for improve heating system performance

-Perform preventive maintenance tasks and servicing of mechanical heating equipment and their associated systems

-Perform basic plumbing repairs related to heating equipment and fuel lines

-Perform tasks, report deficiencies, and maintain and complete daily records of labor and materials used during work tasks

-Continually communicate with supervisor(s) regarding any apparent operational deficiencies or system malfunctions

-Process paperwork including but not limited to work orders, inventory, and preventive maintenance forms

-Attend and participate in all departmental trainings and meetings

-Attend and complete relevant on‐the‐job training as required

-Comply with all company policies and procedures 100% of the time

-Must perform any duties assigned in an emergency as determined by management

-Must be safety focused with an ability to demonstrate the safe operation of the assigned Company service vehicle

-Provide exceptional customer satisfaction on a daily basis while interacting with customers

-Possess a drive, determination, professionalism, and the desire to be a significant factor in growing our business

-Work safely and use safety equipment; be familiar with and adhere to EPA and OSHA policies

-Ensure that Company and Government safety, policy and regulatory standards are met and maintain zero preventable incidents

-Provide services and interact with customers to ensure that we provide all of our customers with the best possible satisfaction

-Collect payments from customers

-Participate in any required job training and/or certifications and safety meetings

-Report to work as scheduled with minimal absenteeism or tardiness

Required Skills:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Clean Driver’s License

EEO/Drug Testing required prior to hiring

Random ongoing drug testing required while employed

Must be able to successfully complete a pre-functional evaluation

Flexible work schedule, including 6 or 7 days a week, or extended hours, as necessary

Geographical knowledge of NYC service area and map reading skills

Possess a positive, can-do attitude

MUST be team player

Ability to climb 36 to 72 inch ladder or scaffold. Constantly work in severe outdoor weather conditions, with exposure to oil and/or fumes and the elements. Reach with and work with hands and arms overhead. Identify and avoid Hazardous waste. Identify and avoid Asbestos hazards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
