Our products and insights reach thousands of clients globally, affecting how we conduct business, moving trillions of dollars a day.Job Summary :As a Data Scientist in Corporate & Investment Bank Payments Data and Analytics; you will learn how money moves through our network and around the world - working in close partnership with teams selling, developing and creating Payments products, including consumer-to-business payments, FX, trade finance and more, turning data into insights to impact the strategy and direction of JPM products. You should also be curious and creative, capable of organizing stakeholder problems into clear business objectives and creating analytics solutions that deliver immediate value. You have a strong desire to bring your ideas to life, preferring rapid development of prototypical solutions refined through collaboration with teammates and stakeholders. You are comfortable reaching out to subject matter experts to build your business knowledge, understand pain points representing analytic opportunities, and excited to develop subject matter expertise in a world-class Payment's organization, contributing to innovative analyticsJob responsibilities:
Develop analytic projects and recommend solutions by understanding business objectives and developing robust analyses to support project goals.
Contribute creative solutions to the firm's biggest problems: where could our existing solutions do better?
Develop queries, tables, and visualizations to craft actionable customer insights that support merchant growth agendas as an individual contributor.
Create actionable recommendations to merchants on how to optimize their marketing strategy.
Collaborate with data owners, department managers and other stakeholders to contribute to the development of data models and algorithms.
Adhere to change control and testing processes for modifications to code and products.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics or similar technical or quantitative field with minimum 2 years' of relevant work experience.
Experience in the payments industry and/or technology-enabled industries is desirable.
Experience in writing complex SQL queries, with knowledge of assessing and sourcing data, optimizing data structures, and managing database query performance.
Expertise in quantitative research techniques and analytics using Python.
Proven strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills with ability to translate strategy into deliverables.
Strong written and oral communication skills to clearly present analytical findings and make business recommendations and prepare executive level communications.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively and cultivate strong partnerships.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
Ability to perform rapid prototyping in Tableau.
Familiarity with Databricks, pySpark and foundational understanding of cloud services.
Attention to detail with a proven ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly.
Ability to clearly develop and document analytic requirements with stakeholders.
