In this role, you'll have the privilege of working on the premier Infrastructure project in the Country, as well as receive all of the benefits of working for Parsons! This Program is the most Urgent infrastructure program in the country - a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark NJ and NYC.Program backgroundThe Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country – a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York City, the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC). The first phase of the Gateway Program includes the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), which includes the construction of a new two-track tunnel under the Hudson River connecting to Penn Station New York as well as the full rehabilitation of the existing 110-year-old North River Tunnel. The Gateway Development Commission (GDC), established through bi-state legislation, is responsible for the financing and development of the Hudson Tunnel Project.As a tri-venture partner with Parsons, Arcadis, and Mace (MPA) is the Delivery Partners (DP)to provide advice, leadership, and support to GDC for the development and implementation of HTP. This is a master service with task order contracts for a 15-year contract encompassing a broad range of strategic advisory services, project management, design management, construction management, stakeholder coordination, federal compliance, operations support, office administration, and related services.Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections of construction activities to ensure they comply with established protection plans and regulatory standards.
Document findings and report any deviations or potential issues to project management.
Ensure that construction activities adhere to environmental protection standards, including dust, noise, and water pollution control measures.
Verify that safety protocols are followed to protect workers, nearby structures, and the surrounding environment.
Monitor excavation and tunneling activities to prevent damage to nearby structures, utilities, and infrastructure.
Implement and inspect protective barriers, supports, and other preventive measures to safeguard against accidental impacts.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, including checklists. photos, and notes on compliance or corrective actions.
Prepare regular reports to provide project managers and stakeholders with updates on protection plan compliance and any corrective measures taken.
Collaborate with contractors to communicate protection requirements and ensure they are integrated into daily work activities.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies during site visits, audits, and inspections to ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
Provides leadership for Quality Control support activities for assigned program(s) or project(s) to ensure that products or services provided meet customer and Parsons’ requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in related field and 10+ years related construction experience or a High School/Trade School diploma and work experience of at least 15+ years is required.
ASQ CMQ or CMQ/OE preferred. Evidence of previous certification required. Additional years of education beyond the minimum requirement are considered equivalent to years of related work experience.
Requires the ability to communicate clearly and interface effectively with a diverse group of professionals.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of the company.
Proficient in data collection, analysis and presentation.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access. Requires proficiency in the use of computers and software packages needed to support the documentation, analysis and retention of quality records.
