Temporary Development Associate for Schools & Programs
New York, New york city 00000 New york city USAResponsibilities: The New School seeks a Temporary Development Associate for Schools and Programs to support DAE operations across the university. This position reports to the Senior Director of Development, Lang & SPE . Under their direction, this person will provide administrative support to the individual major giving team who is responsible for the University’s major gifts fundraising. The primary tasks include—though are not limited to—supporting the Major Gift Officers in administrative management; acting as a point of first contact for various constituents and logistical support for special events. Assist in preparing a spectrum of major gift constituent communications ranging from personalized correspondence, to custom major and/or planned gift proposals, tailored reports and presentations, and communications with the various schools’ Boards of Governors.
Develop administrative systems and processes to improve efficiency of team workflows.
Provide administrative assistance, such as writing and editing emails, drafting memos, and preparing communications on the Major Gift Officers behalf.
Manage data entry for senior fundraisers including donor outreach, correspondence, meetings, and proposals into the DAE database (Salesforce) under the guidance and direction of Development Research.
Provide support in a project management role through proactively organizing and preparing for board meetings and signature events in coordination with Special Events teams across the university.
Coordinate gift in kind donation requests with donors and academic partners under the guidance of the school Directors of Development and Gift Accounting team.
Assist the Institutional Giving team with various administrative tasks as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of three years in a professional office setting, ideally assisting senior level professionals.
Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage well with a wide diversity of internal and external constituents.
Some evenings and weekend hours are required.

Hybrid- Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.
Salary Range: $25 to 30 per hour
