The Card Members that use our cards to make purchases, and the businesses that accept them. In Global Merchant & Network Services, we primarily focus on the businesses that accept our cards. We bring together the businesses that lead and evolve the company’s relationships with the millions of merchants around the world that accept American Express, as well as the team that runs the company’s payment network and leads bank partnerships globally. This is an exciting time for GMNS. We are expanding global acceptance of our cards, driving greater usage of our network, using our modern capabilities to bring together broader revenue streams, and driving innovation both in-house and with partners. The Associate Product Manager role requires you to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of a product, service, or application. Give to the product vision, strategy, and value proposition.
Conduct market and user research, identify market trends, and evaluate the competitive landscape to find opportunities to further improve the product value proposition.
Collect and synthesize product data to drive actionable insights and steer the product strategy.
Partner with Delivery and Technology teams to groom, prioritize, and complete the product backlog in an agile environment.
Drive product and/or feature adoption and engagement in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, including development of marketing & servicing materials, and measuring impact post launch
Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., engineering, data, analytics, other product management teams, etc.) to deliver results as a cross-functional team.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program
Students must have a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.
Experience in the payments industry is a plus.
Experience with SQL and/or Hive is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interest in the payments industry, digital products, and product management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to distill down complex concepts or problems.
Intellectual curiosity and desire to continually learn about the changing payments landscape and new technologies.
Ability to collaborate with and build positive relationships with leaders, colleagues in different time zones, and cross-functional partners to deliver value beyond traditional means.
Strong project management skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
Proficient in analytical and presentation tools, including MS Excel and PowerPoint
Demonstrated resilience, proactive problem solving, ‘can do’ attitude, and optimism in changing circumstances.
Ability to multi-task smoothly and lead opposing priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity, and rapid change.
Comfortable challenging the status quo and driving continuous process improvement.
