NYC Architectural Draftsman

Seeking an Architectural Draftsman to join our team part time or full.

As an Architectural Associate you will work on projects in primarily in Manhattan, to expand your knowledge of NYC building codes and regulations, NYC city agencies and expediting processes.

We are a mid-sized, interiors-focused architecture firm in fast-paced, multidisciplinary architecture and interior design firm specializing in retail, office and hospitality primarily in Manhattan. We are looking for someone who can support and strengthen our team by contributing strong AutoCAD skills towards documentation and in construction administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Survey existing and as-built conditions on sites located throughout NYC

Create Architectural Drawings and Construction Documents

Zoning Analysis and Diagrams

Drawing existing and proposed sections and elevations

Prepare DOB filing set packages and coordinate with Expeditor

Follow up with pertinent parties to ensure timely submission and fulfillment of DOB requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience working on high-end retail and restaurants preferred.

A professional degree in architecture.

Highly organized with an attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Basic knowledge of NYC Building Code and Zoning Resolution.

Experienced AutoCAD user

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental personnel, management, contractors, consultants and the general public

Highly attentive to details, accuracy and visual aesthetic

New York/Tri-State area resident preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree or Certificate in Architecture, Drafting or Surveying

5+ years work experience with New York City and New York State Code & Zoning Regulations

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment

Project management experience
