Agiri Learning Consultants is an instructional leadership development firm. We have worked with hundreds of leaders and educators to design and implement equitable learning practices that have improved learning outcomes for students and adult learners. We seek to fill 4 immediate contract positions for:

Math Instructional Coach who will directly coach teachers and instructional leaders in improving student learning experiences in Algebra and Geometry content areas.

Science Instructional Coach who will coach teachers in Biology and Earth Science

Social Studies Instructional Coach who will coach teachers in United States and Global history

Literacy Instructional Coach who will coach teachers in K-12 settings

Responsibilities

Equity and Social Justice Advancer

Utilize a social justice and equity-focused lens to guide schools in improvement efforts and coaching experiences.

Embody and convey an unwavering commitment to justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism to clients.

Engage Agiri clients as needed in critical conversations about race, isms, and social justice to inform and provide asset-based solutions to clients and students.

Professional Development Designer and Facilitator:

Use equity, social justice, anti-racism, and adult learning knowledge to develop, design, and engage in transformative learning sessions for adult learners and teams.

Lead instructional leadership and teacher teams in learning cycles.

Utilize Agiri Learning equity and instructional frameworks to design learning experiences for partners.

Work closely with leadership teams to use quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate student work and inform solution design.

Utilize emotional intelligence to create flexible and responsive learning environments.

Coaching:

Situate student work and student voice as the primary foundation for coaching work.

Coach and model research-based practices that lead to personal and school improvement.

Create resources, curriculum, templates, and professional development plans to support client development.

Set learning goals for educators and students

Provide documentation of coaching goals, processes, and results.

Provide regular forward feedback to leaders regarding clients that are being coached.

Qualifications:

Former NYCDOE employees are welcome: However, we can only hire former NYCDOE employees who have not worked in the system for at least a year.

Content Expertise: Formal and personally developed expertise in respective Biology (formerly Living Environment and Earth Space (formerly known as Earth Science); Knowledgeable in current research, best practices, and methods within specific areas of expertise; Knowledgeable about the NGS, Common Core Standards and NY State’s emphasis on instructional shifts. Knowledgeable about how to incorporate literacy into science teaching and learning.

Social Justice and Anti-Racism: Trained or deeply knowledgeable in equity/social justice and anti-racism; Committed to implementing anti-racist teaching in both coaching and the classroom.

Culturally Responsive Pedagogy: Knowledgeable in Culturally Responsive Instructional and Pedagogical Practices.

Relationship Builder: Skilled at building relationships with clients and team members.

Coaching: Prior experience in coaching and knowledge of coaching theory and practice—3+ years of coaching adults is required.

Skilled Communicator: Strong oral and written communication skills.

Urban Teacher Leadership Experience: Experienced in urban public-school settings - 5+ years of urban teaching and teacher leadership experience is required.

Strong Facilitator: Skilled in planning and facilitating engaging adult professional development sessions.

Work Environment:

We are a virtual office. Contractors work in the field, from home, and in Agiri-rented spaces. Coaches are expected to provide on-site and virtual support to New York City and Greater NY schools.

Compensation:

Payscale ranges from $800 to $850 per contracted day spent with the client.

Hourly rates range from $50 to $70 per hour for curriculum development and $250-300 for facilitation of workshops or trainings.
