We have an immediate opening in the Collections Department in our Latham, New York headquarters office for a Collections Specialist- Strategic. Candidates should have a strong commitment to excellence and strive for personal and professional growth; demonstrated outstanding work or academic performance; an aptitude for analysis and problem solving; be resourceful and enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment as an effective contributor.The Collections Specialist -Strategic is responsible for managing an assigned accounts receivable portfolio within the company’s commercial payment terms, establishing contact with customers to include collections efforts and deduction management. Key Responsibilities:

Drive collection of past due balances via collection calls, emails, and use of customer portals to reduce delinquency.

Perform customer account reconciliations.

Utilize customer portals to ensure all invoices have been received and scheduled for payment.

Ensure integrity of daily invoice process, including EDI transmissions.

Establish firm payment dates or payment plans with customers.

Interact with internal Sales & Customer Experience teams to lead the effort to resolve billing disputes, customer discrepancies and invoice short payments.

Manage customer deductions taken for contractual allowances and agreements.

Enlist the assistance from Collections Specialist III colleagues, & your Collections Manager, when necessary, to accelerate the collection process and to minimize customer disturbance.

Document collection efforts and statuses using PIP’s ERP system.

Core Skills and Competencies:

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong telephone and customer service skills

Effective Time-Management Skills are essential.

Ability to work independently and be results oriented.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Experience in finance ERP systems, Eclipse or another Epicor platform is desired.

Strong system skills (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
