Construction Inspector

Whitestone Associates, Inc., a 100% employee-owned company and leading provider of environmental and geotechnical engineering and consulting services throughout the eastern US, is currently recruiting for a Construction Inspector. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Construction Inspector with 0-2 years of experience to join our team. This position involves construction phase testing and inspection of foundation construction; earthwork; soil placement and compaction; concrete; reinforcing steel; and various other construction materials and operations.

Internships are available.

Locations:

Ithaca/Cortland/Elmira NY

Rochester NY

Buffalo NY

Responsibilities:

· Perform field testing of construction materials (soils, concrete, and steel);

· Communicate with project managers and sub-contractors regarding inspection, observation, and testing results;

· Transportation of sample materials for laboratory analysis;

· Preparation of field data and technical reports; and

· Travel to various construction sites to perform inspections.

Requirements:

· 1-2 year experience in field construction inspection and testing (preferred);

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

· Nuclear Density Gauge Operator certification (preferred, will train);

· Prior experience with geotechnical and/or environmental field investigation (preferred); and

· ACI certifications (preferred, will train)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
