Job description:

Clove Brook Farm is an idyllic and sprawling small-scale farm in the heart of the Hudson Valley. We are dedicated to creating a sustainable and mutually beneficial relationship between ourselves, our animals, and our land. Our farm includes a haying operation, a large personal garden, 2 horses, 4 donkeys, 1 turkey, and backyard chickens.

We are seeking a skilled and versatile farm hand to join our team. The primary responsibilities of this role include animal care—feeding, cleaning, grooming, and more. In addition, the role involves completing various maintenance tasks and small building/repair projects around the farm, such as constructing nesting boxes, fixing fences, painting, and operating a tractor. Assistance in the garden will also be required as needed.

Applicants must have at least 2 years of experience working with and caring for horses. Proficiency in operating a tractor and general handiness is also essential for this position.

Requirements:

2+ Years experience working with and caring for horses.

1+ Years of general livestock experience

Ability to complete basic maintenance tasks as well as simple carpentry and building

Must be able to work weekends

Willingness to learn as well as to share knowledge

Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions, including inclement weather

Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. and perform tasks requiring agility and repetitive physical effort

Ability to operate vehicles (e.g., truck, utility vehicle, tractor & brush hog, excavator), power equipment (e.g., string trimmer, $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule: 4-8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed

Experience:

Hours beginning at 7:00am

Consistent schedule

Paid weekly via direct deposit
