Restaurant Matilda - HOST/MAITRE D'

Matilda at The Henson is a new fine dining restaurant located in Hensonville, NY, in the heart of the Catskills. Owned in partnership with Michelin starred Chefs Jeremiah Stone and Fabian Von Hauske (Bar Contra and Wildair in NYC) and Ely and Danielle Franko (The Hunter Houses), Restaurant Matilda at The Henson is opening Spring 2024.

We are seeking a friendly and customer-oriented individual to join our restaurant team. As a Maitre d'/Host, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. This position is ideal for someone with excellent communication skills and a passion for providing exceptional guest service.

Duties:

- Greet guests as they arrive and seat them at their designated tables

- Provide menus and inform guests about daily specials

- Assist in coordinating reservations and managing waitlists (Open Table)

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station and waiting area

- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations

- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests with professionalism and efficiency

- Monitor dining room activity to ensure timely seating and service (some light bussing of tables involved)

- Assist in setting up tables for reservations or special events

Skills:

- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to provide outstanding guest service with a friendly demeanor

- Familiarity with Open Table/Toast

- Strong organizational skills to manage reservations and waitlists effectively

- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
