Nancy’s of Woodstock Artisanal Creamery is an established brand that is widely known for its excellent ice cream made from fresh, local ingredients. However, the company is now looking to expand its offerings to include high-quality baked goods and is seeking a skilled and passionate baker to help achieve this goal. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating a variety of desserts, frozen desserts, and pastries, and be able to work efficiently and effectively to produce a range of high-quality treats. In addition to being well-versed in culinary arts, the ideal candidate should also be able to work independently and as part of a team and possess excellent communication skills to ensure that customers’ needs are met and that they are informed about the products being sold.

Responsibilities

Provide a variety of goods such as sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, frozen pies/cakes, toppings, ice cream flavors paired with pastry.

Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers.

Decorate pastries, to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting

Monitor stocks for all ingredients

Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices

Guide and motivate pastry assistants to work more efficiently

Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel

Maintain a lean and orderly kitchen and adhere to health and safety standards

Mentoring intern(s)

Working catered events

Requirements

Proven experience as Pastry Chef or equivalent role

Great attention to detail and creativity

Organizing and leadership skills

Willingness to replenish professional knowledge

Working knowledge of baking with ingredients limitations I.E. gluten free

In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques
