Salary: 60,021.00-90,012.00 USDFacility: Administrative Regional Training CntrShift: Shift 1Status: Full Time FTE: 1.000000Bargaining Unit: ACE AssociatesExempt from Overtime: Exempt: YesWork Schedule: DaysHours: ideally 8a-4pSummary:Under the direction of the Director Health & Welfare Benefits, the Senior Associate Benefits Specialist is responsible for the delivery of Employee Benefit Programs including but not limited to: medical and prescription, dental plans, medical and dependent flexible savings accounts, paid time off, associate wellness program, life insurances, AD&D, employee discounts and EAP for all Catholic Health locations and affiliates, in support of the Catholic Health strategic initiatives and principles. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Catholic Health Benefit plan policies and guidelines, as well as with Federal and NYS laws applicable to the organization. Under the general direction of the Director of Health & Welfare Benefits, the Senior Associate Benefits Specialist is responsible for maintaining all necessary benefit compliance rules and regulations related to Catholic Health associate benefit programs, specific to strict HIPAA & PHI guidelines, Affordable Care Act (ACA) including the creation, modification, communication and implementation of benefit programs to all associates including those represented by organized labor agreements. The role also oversees the benefit application of the HR Service Center specific to Total Rewards (TR), each site Human Resources staff and the various benefit vendors, consultants and community partners.Responsibilities:EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a relevant course of study is required

MBA preferred

Employee Benefits Specialist certification is strongly preferred

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Benefits / HR work experience required; preferably in a multi-facility healthcare work environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

Excellent computer skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and Access software applications required

Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills required

Customer focused with a commitment to service excellence

Strong ability to analyze problems and recommend effective solutions

Self-starter, able to anticipate problem areas and proactively intervene with HR programs

Excellent knowledge of employee Benefit programs and HR regulatory requirements related to all facets of Human Resources

Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements related to benefits administration

Ability to handle confidential information

Exercises independent professional judgment based on knowledge, skills and guidelines
