Title of Position: Security Director FLSA Status: Exempt Department : Security Reports to : Assistant Vice President, Corporate Security Salary: Up to $75,000 per year Positions reporting to this position: Security Shift Supervisors Purpose of the Position The Security Director is responsible for overseeing the safety and security of the organization's assets, employees, and guests. This role involves strategic planning, development, and implementation of comprehensive security policies and procedures. The Security Director ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations and coordinates with law enforcement and other external agencies, as necessary. Core Responsibilities: Strategic Security Planning:

Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy to protect the organization’s assets and people.

Continuously assess and mitigate potential security risks.

Stay updated with the latest security technology and trends.

Policy Implementation:

Maintain and enforce security policies and procedures.

Ensure all security protocols comply with local, state, and federal laws.

Team Management:

Hire, train, and supervise security personnel.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for security staff.

Emergency Response Planning:

Develop and implement emergency response plans for various scenarios (natural disasters, terror attacks, etc.).

Conduct regular drills and training to ensure preparedness.

Investigations and Incident Management:

Oversee investigations into security breaches or incidents.

Coordinate with law enforcement and other relevant agencies as needed.

Provide detailed incident reports and post-incident analyses.

Budget Management:

Manage the security budget.

Ensure efficient allocation of resources for maximum security effectiveness.

Physical Security Management:

Oversee the maintenance and improvement of physical security infrastructure (surveillance systems, access control, barriers, lighting, etc.).

Regularly review and upgrade security systems and equipment as needed.

Stakeholder Communication:

Consult with management, staff, and external stakeholders to keep them informed about security issues and initiatives.

Address any concerns or queries related to security matters.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and legal requirements.

Regularly report to senior management about security status and issues.

Essential Functions:

Must be able to visually observe CCTV camera.

Must be able to ascend/descend stairs in an 8-story building.

Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time.

Must be able to lift and use a fire extinguisher.

Ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Must be able to respond swiftly in emergency situations.

The Security Director typically works in an office environment but may be required to visit various sites, including outdoor locations. The role may involve responding to emergencies outside of standard working hours.

Qualifications:

Commitment to Win’s mission, vision, and values.

A degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field; bachelor’s degree preferred; or 10+ years of security or law enforcement management experience.

Extensive experience in security, law enforcement, or military, with a proven track record in a leadership role.

Valid NYS Security Guard License.

Valid Fire Safety Director Certification and First Aid/CPR/AED.

Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) are advantageous.

Knowledge of crisis intervention and handling of violent crimes.

Demonstrated ability to work with at-risk populations.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite.

Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus.

Strong knowledge of security protocols, surveillance systems, and emergency response procedures.
