Location: Izanami Restaurant
Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Front of House Manager with 3+ years of management experience to join our team and lead our FOH operations with excellence.
Position Overview:
As the FOH Manager, you will be the face of Izanami, responsible for ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests while supporting the daily operations of the restaurant. You will oversee the FOH staff, enforce policies, and maintain a high standard of service. This role requires a strong leader who can educate, empower, coach, and, when necessary, discipline the team to uphold the restaurant’s standards and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Coordination:
Coordinate all FOH activities, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional guest service.
Assign server and support staff sections, adjust staffing levels, and ensure adequate coverage.
Work closely with the hosts to manage guest flow and accurately estimate wait times.
Communicate effectively with the Back of House (BOH) team to ensure seamless service.
Hold pre-shift meetings to discuss specials, promotions, and action items.
2. Guest Experience & Policy Enforcement:
Greet guests warmly and manage guest interactions to ensure a welcoming environment.
Address guest complaints and compliments, encouraging repeat visits.
Develop and implement systems for enforcing restaurant policies and rewarding exceptional staff performance.
Supervise and discipline staff as needed, documenting incidents and ensuring compliance with dress codes and standards.
3. Operational Excellence:
Conduct regular checks to enforce restaurant standards and complete checklists.
Ensure workstations are neat, clean, and fully stocked.
Oversee POS and cash management, including counting, making change, and reconciling tips.
Manage inventory, supplies, and ensure the functionality of software and equipment.
Submit Help Desk requests as necessary.
4. Fill-in & Support:
Act as a backup for FOH positions when staff is unable to meet demands or is absent.
Be familiar with all FOH roles and be ready to step in when required.

Requirements:
Must ensure proper coverage during any planned absence.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must have strong leadership and communication skills.
3 or more years of previous experience in a similar role within an upscale restaurant setting.
