Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems Division, is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer (Level 3) to support the team in Kirtland AFB, NM or Albuquerque, NM. Our team focus on the development of new global military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) ground systems that will manage transmission of protected tactical waveform (a type of secure, anti-jam communication) — over Boeing-built satellites and terminals. In addition, the Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.Position Overview:The Experienced Systems Engineer will be part of the highly motivated system engineers that provides military customer support of satellite operations and sustaining systems engineering for the program. This position will provide real-time routine and contingency operations support for all on-station satellites. As a member of our team, you will have opportunity to learn about the satellite’s constellation and different subsystems. You will also have opportunity to advance your career with the satellite sustainment industry and becoming a SME in your subsystem.This role will include advising the customer in satellite operations and ground command & control sustainment tasks. This position will focus on authoring, reviewing and helping execute satellite operational procedures. Configure and run simulations to support procedure validation. Provide technical recommendations to the customer engineers and operators. Perform satellite data trending and analysis so that spacecraft performance can be monitored and analyzed. Perform ground computer system software and database testing.Position Responsibilities:
Advise the customer in satellite operations and ground command & control sustainment tasks.
Author, review and help execute satellite operational procedures.
Configure and run simulations to support procedure validation.

Perform satellite data trending and analysis so that spacecraft performance can be monitored and analyzed.

Execute procedure and results analysis.
Work Authorization:This position requires an active/current Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
3 years or more of experience with development or maintenance of test or operations procedures.
3 years or more of experience working with satellites and satellite subsystems.
1 year or more of experience in RF engineering and digital signal processing.
Experience using oral and written communications skills and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 years or more of experience in systems engineering.
5 years or more of experience in satellite operations or sustaining engineering; specifically, geosynchronous communications satellites. Knowledge of government satellite on-orbit operations and/or sustaining engineering.
Experience with satellite communications theory and operations.
Experience in telemetry data trending and analysis, and ground command & control systems.
Familiarization with Army, Air Force, and/or Space Force Satellite Communications missions, planning and operations.
Experience working on virtual and diverse teams, interfacing with multiple contractors in technical capacities while properly handling protected and classified data.
Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
