We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant-Front Desk for our privately owned Urgent Care Practice. This position is for 3-4 days per week. We are open 7 days a week Monday thru Saturday from 9:00am -5:00pm and Sunday 10AM-4PM. Candidate must be available to work weekends. This is not an entry-level position, experience working in a clinic setting is required.

We are looking for an immediate hire to start training immediately after interviews are conducted.

Candidates should also have a background in customer service, be computer and phone-literate, able to multi-task, be organized and efficient while maintaining a smile! Most important is a desire to learn, common-sense, great attention to detail and a great attitude. Applicants should enjoy direct patient care, be dependable, enthusiastic, with a desire and ability to take ownership of the position.

We are looking for someone who wants to work in a LONG TERM stable position. Must be mature enough to handle responsibilities, able to FOCUS, take direction, work INDEPENDENTLY and follow policies and procedures.

Duties:

- Check patients in and out. Collect copay's, deductibles and coinsurance. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits. Patient data entry.

- Answer phones, manage clinical logs and reconcile daily receivables.

- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart

- Review discharge instructions with patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant

- Ensure all related reports, labs and information is correctly added to the EMR for a complete patient chart

- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required- Assist the front desk with telephone calls and checking in patients

- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.)

- Assist providers in exam rooms with lacerations, injections, ear lavage, iv set up and ortho splinting

- Bi-weekly inventories

- All other duties as assigned
