Description Robert Half is looking for a part time Payroll Specialist to join an NM Local Company. As a Part-Time Payroll Specialist operating on a contract basis, you will be responsible for handling various aspects of payroll processing for the company. Your role will involve ensuring accurate and timely compensation to employees, adherence to payroll-related regulations, and maintaining meticulous payroll records.Key Responsibilities:

Execute the end-to-end payroll process accurately and on time for all employees on a part-time or contractual basis. Calculate wages, deductions, commissions, and overtime as applicable.

Manage time and attendance records to accurately reflect hours worked, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

Stay updated with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Process payroll taxes, deductions, and withholdings in adherence to legal requirements.

Maintain accurate employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, changes in salary, and other relevant information within the payroll system.

Generate and distribute payroll reports as needed, including tax reports, summaries, and any required documentation for internal or external stakeholders.

Address employee payroll-related inquiries, resolve issues, and provide guidance on payroll matters with professionalism and accuracy.

Maintain confidential payroll records and ensure proper storage and retention of payroll-related documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with HR, finance, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless integration and accuracy of payroll-related information.

Requirements

Proven experience in payroll processing, ideally in a part-time or contract capacity.

Proficiency in payroll software and systems; experience with ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms is advantageous.

Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards.

Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and calculations.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information with discretion.

Effective communication skills to interact with employees and various stakeholders.

Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a part-time work arrangement.

Certification in payroll administration or related field is a plus.
