As web developer, you will be responsible for creating, managing, developing and updating website content and landing pages. You will use your expertise in PHP and the WordPress environment to continuously elevate the brand by building a world class, end-user focused website. You will work closely with key stakeholders and team members across the organization including marketing and product management in order to build a seamless brand experience for our customers. Reports to the Head of Graphic Design, and will collaborate across the organization to ensure projects, timelines and priorities are met. Your Responsibilities:
  • Create web content and landing pages efficiently and with tight deadlines
  • Responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
  • Work collaboratively across the organization and within the design team to continuously improve quality and content or our website
  • Design and create the visual layout of the website including, graphics, logos and videos
  • Write efficient code by using best software development practices
  • Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
  • Assist in shaping UI/UX requirements for various projects
  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs

What you bring to the table:
  • Minimum 3-5 years advanced PHP programming language skills and proficiency with WordPress’ APIs (Settings, REST, various plugin APIs), advanced caching strategies, CSS3 and HTML5
  • Experience creating WordPress themes and plugins
  • Strong knowledge on object-oriented concepts such as classes, inheritance, abstraction etc.
  • Deep understanding and experience testing, debugging and troubleshooting WordPress logs and debug plugins
  • Working knowledge and experience with common plugins (WooCommerce, SEO, media library, debugging etc.)
  • Ability to setup a local WordPress environment with local database and proficiency migrating WordPress installations from one environment to another
  • Experience and deep understanding of WCAG 2.0 AA Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and testing for WCAG 2.0 AA compliance
  • Knowledge of Google Tools (Search Console, Analytics)
  • Proven track record and strong portfolio
