SUN & WAVES ALL DAY KITCHEN- Cafe Team Leader- Spring Lake

Roll up your sleeves and lead the way, partnering with other members of the leadership team to support timely follow-through and execution of company directives & standards. Through advanced planning, time management, team development, and delegation youll create an inclusive environment embodying Sun & Waves All Day Kitchens values & culture. You will provide actionable feedback in the moment to maintain good vibes, inclusion, and directive compliance driving individual & team performance. As well as ensuring a positive representation of the brand by utilizing business tools and market-specific insight to maximize results of the four key areas of the business: People, Sales, Presentation and Operations.

We are seeking an experienced person to join our team. The individuals in this role will lead the front-of-house team and ensure that our customers feel at home and will provide quality service and careful presentation. They ensure the team provides a warm welcome, make meaningful connections and provide high quality service.

What Youll Do

Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Network within the local community to enhance the cafe's reputation.

Recruit, train, and supervise cafe staff, including servers.

Create work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor employee performance.

Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, policies, and address concerns for the front of the house.

Ensure high-quality customer service by maintaining a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner

Train staff on customer service best practices and ensure they adhere to them.

Oversee day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.

Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs as needed.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cafe.

Monitor financial transactions, including cash handling and POS system operations.

Understand and analyze financial reports, such as sales reports and profit and loss statements.

Collaborate with chefs or kitchen staff to update the menu.

Introduce new products or promotions to attract customers and increase sales.

Implement marketing strategies to drive customer traffic.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Stay updated on licensing requirements and food safety standards.

Address any issues related to compliance promptly.

Partner with Spring Lake Market Leader to coordinate special events or promotions within the cafe.

Identify areas for improvement in operations, service, and efficiency.

Implement changes and adjustments as needed to enhance overall performance.

You are the liaison between the guest and the Faherty brand.

What Youll Have

Previous management experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead a team.

Serve Safe Certification

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Customer-focused and able to adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment.

Well-organized, efficient and able to multitask.

Can clearly and respectfully communicate and express oneself

Take initiative and consistently grow and expands cafe knowledge

Support company goals and initiatives and is a team player

Show respect and kindness to fellow employees and customers

Accept responsibility and execute all assignments correctly and with care

Accept coaching and feedback from others openly

Flexible and can adapt to an ever-changing environment

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Certification from a reputable coffee training program is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Available when we are open for business including early mornings (5-7am) nights weekends and holidays.

Able to bend reach stretch for product as well as lift carry and move at least 40 lbs.

Comfortable climbing ladders moving around regularly and standing for extended periods of time.

In order to protect the business and engage with all our customers, we need to ensure that we embrace an all hands on deck mentality during key business periods. Due to this, time off requests will be granted on a more limited basis. The Cafe will have additional specific peak season time.
