What does a Director, Software Development do?As the Director of Software Development for our Payments Exchange Fedwire and RTP/Instant products, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development, enhancement, and continuous improvement of our payment processing software. Your leadership and technical expertise will be instrumental in delivering robust, high-performance solutions that meet the needs of our clients and keep pace with industry standards. You will manage multiple teams for different product lines, developed in various tech stack – C#, Java and C.What you will do:

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire cross-functional software development teams responsible for Fedwire and RTP/Instant products, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Product Strategy: Collaborate with executive leadership to define the product vision, strategy, and roadmaps, aligning them with the company's goals and client needs.

Technology Stack Expertise: Leverage your deep knowledge of C#, Java, MS SQL, Redis, Spring, IBM MQ, Kafka, and Core Connections using Web Services to guide technical decisions and architecture.

Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring they are on time and within budget.

Quality Assurance: Champion and enforce rigorous quality assurance practices, including testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.

Scalability and Performance: Ensure the scalability and high-performance of the Fedwire and RTP/Instant products, optimizing system resources and response times.

Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures and compliance standards relevant to payment processing.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and partners, ensuring alignment and effective communication.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and technology upgrades to enhance product features and functionality.

Budget Management: Responsible for managing the software development budget, allocating resources efficiently, and tracking expenditures.

What you will need to have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Proven experience of 15+ years in software development leadership roles, with a focus on financial technology and payment processing.

Recent 5+ years of experience in leadership roles, managing geographically dispersed teams, ideally globally.

Strong technical expertise in C#, Java, MS SQL, Redis, Spring, IBM MQ, Kafka, and Core Connections using Web Services.

Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing development teams.

Some Project management and budget management experience.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

What will be great to have:

Knowledge of financial industry regulations and compliance related to payment processing is a plus.
