Oyster Farm Assistant Manager

Join the Fat Dog Team! Fat Dog Shellfsih is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager to help lead the production of oysters at our sites in Durham and Newington, NH. Fat Dog operates out of Great Bay Marine, a full service marina in Newington, NH (just outside of Portsmouth).

Duties

The Assistant Farm Manager will help lead a field crew that completes all aspects of oyster production. These include cultivating and deploying seed, tumbling, grading and restocking oysters, culling oysters for sale, and assisting with record keeping. This position will help supervise a summer field crew, typically 1-2 Farm Techs. This position will be responsible for operating boats and associated machinery and will generally assist with the development and implementation of a daily work plan in coordination with the Farm Manager. All work is outdoors and on the water.

Qualifications

demonstrated experience performing manual labor

ability to operate boats

valid coast guard boater safety certificate (or New Hampshire boater's license)

valid driver's license

Must be 18 or older

Work Schedule

This is a full time, seasonal position that runs from April through November with the likelihood of extension into the winter. The Assistant Farm Manager will work 5-6 days/week and must be willing/able to work weekends.
