Overview$7,000 Sign-On/Retention Bonus and relocation availableThe Mental Health Clinician (LICSW, MLADC or LCMHC) in the Section of Addiction Psychiatry in the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Addiction Treatment Program (ATP) will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive assessments, care, and support to adults with substance use disorders. This position involves the opportunity to provide a unique blend of individual and group therapy in an outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) setting. The Addiction Treatment Program is the site of the regional hub for the New Hampshire Doorway, working with a multidisciplinary team that includes counselors, physicians, nurses, resource specialists, and peer support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction treatment and a deep commitment to enhancing the quality of life and care for individuals with substance use disorders.We are seeking candidates who can bring the following to this important role:
A minimum of one year of experience providing substance use services on an inpatient, outpatient, or consultative basis.
Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders commonly seen in individuals with substance use disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders
Familiarity with 12-step programs and resources for individuals with substance use disorders, such as peer recovery organizations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and engage patients from diverse backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain professional boundaries in challenging clinical situations.
We are offering a $7000 sign-on/retention bonus for this position. The bonus is available for external hires only, and certain conditions apply.This is a full-time, 40-hour/week benefitted, day-shift position. Evaluate patients with substance use disorder utilizing ASAM criteria and thorough biopsychosocial assessment and refer to the appropriate level of care
Respond promptly to callers seeking substance use evaluations, resources, and support through the NH Doorway 211 line
Collaborate with providers and other individuals outside of the agency involved in the patient's care
Offer group, individual, and family therapy
Deliver evidence-based treatment such as Motivational Enhancement, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness in Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and individual settings
Refer patients in need of medication for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions to medical staff
Document pertinent clinical data in a professional and timely manner
Participate in clinical meetings for care coordination
Communicate with multidisciplinary staff in a collaborative manner
Provide formal and informal teaching to learners of various disciplines and stages of training
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work OR Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling OR Addictions Counseling from an accredited institution of higher education, including an internship meeting professional standards.
Must be able to demonstrate that he or she has provided psychological services, on an inpatient, outpatient or consultative basis in the past 12 months.
Required Licensure/Certifications
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in New Hampshire and VT
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in NH and VT
Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in New Hampshire
