Data Center Technician

Description:These are 6 month DC Tech Level 1-2 roles as TEKsystems contractors at NVIDIA and supporting a DC Buildout for their Reno (FARM2) Datacenter. These are not contract-to-hire. There are 5 roles total. Must have DC Tech Experience (if not then at least 1 year of PC Tech type experience and wanting to learn rack/stack in the datacenter. Level 1 - Move servers and switches to required destination for installation. - Inspect servers and switches to make sure that they are not damaged in any way. - Smoke test servers to ensure that server is functioning as intended. - Install servers and switches and cable it according to provided wire map. - Make sure that all cables ran are bundled neatly and in accordance with Nvidia's standard. - Double check with network admins to make sure everything is cabled correctly, and all connections are up. - Install additional components needed (NIC, Drive, Memory) - Assist in unboxing and prepping servers as needed - Auditing of servers and consumables NVIDIA is expanding IT Datacenter footprint to support increased capacity needs. In order to meet project timelines, NVIDIA is partnering with Contractor to support the following: Investigation, diagnosis and remediation of hardware and cabling issues, and installation of servers and labeling. Provide specific expertise in DC support via installation, and remediation of hardware and cabling along with other maintenance duties. Day to day operational duties such as error light checks, inventory management, goods receiving, remote hands response, escorting of visitors Hours are Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM.Skills:Troubleshooting, Hardware, Break/Fix, data center, Cable, InstallationTop Skills Details:Troubleshooting,Hardware,Break/Fix,data center,Cable,InstallationAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Must have a good attitude and work well within a team.
