Nevada, Reno / tahoe, 89501 Reno / tahoe USAJOB SUMMARY:
Help prepare and assemble analog instrument gauge wiring harnesses. Assist in cutting, stripping and labeling wires to the correct length and specifications, depending on which harness project is in production. Following technical diagrams, wiring lists and color codes accurately and precisely. Wire crimping and routing wires using tools such as crimp presses, wire strippers and continuity testers for quality assurance (experience NOT required). Inspecting finished products for flaws and errors. Meeting quality expectations and deadlines, while following all safety procedures within the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintenance of all wiring harness equipment, wires, systems, projects, etc.
Strict adherence to following all technical diagrams and specifications.
Cut color specific wires to specific lengths on a wiring machine.
Crimp terminals onto wires, depending on the specifics of the project.
Keep work area clean and free of excess debris.
Spot-check all areas for quality issues and makes appropriate adjustments.
Monitor and maintain material usages / inventory control.
Troubleshoot any quality problems and find a resolution.
Strict adherence to following all safety protocols and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma is required. While experience in wiring / assembling or production lines is preferred, it is not necessary for employment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and work orders to determine materials, requirements, and assembly instructions preferred, as well. We will train the proper candidate to meet our expected quality standards, though, so experience isn't as important as finding a quality individual who wants to work.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers, communicate and listen to instructions by all managers and department heads. The employee will be required to bend and reach with hands and arms. Employee may occasionally bend, stoop or kneel and may have to lift up to 20-30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Duties are performed in a warehouse plant facility. Employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and can expect moderate noise when on the production floor.
