OverviewThis position contributes to the mission of Commonspirit Health by assuring that the patient’s hospital care is planned and coordinated to provide a safe and positive experience for the patient. Evaluates appropriateness of level of care, diagnostic and clinical procedures, quality and clinical risk issues, and provides accurate and complete medical record documentation. Provides services which encompass the spiritual, physiological, social, and psychological aspects of care of the sick, prevention of disease, or conservation of health.ResponsibilitiesOpportunity to work from home after training if you live in the Metro Omaha area
Performs duties according to department specific expectations.
Identify the care and resources required for accessing hospital services for surgical, procedural, non-invasive diagnostic, invasive diagnostic, admitted, and clinical procedure patients.
Evaluates the appropriateness of levels of care, diagnostic testing and clinical procedures.
Provides timely, accurate and complete medical record documentation and data collection initiating the electronic medical record and patient assessment clinical documentation.
Establishes positive working relationships with physicians and their office staff with a focus on customer service and ease of access to hospital services.
Collects clinical history and evaluates existing diagnostic findings to initiate clinical protocols for additional diagnostic testing by interviewing the patient or care giver.
Provides patient information, preparation and education for impending surgery, tests, procedures, admissions through the patient interview. Identifies patient/care giver learning needs and initiates and provides for age appropriate education.
Effectively functions as a liaison for patients, families, physicians, office staff and the patient care team. Promptly investigates and resolves problems or concerns, or refers them to a higher authority.
Exercises professional nursing judgment. Maintains a professional attitude with patients, visitors, physicians, office staff and hospital personnel.
Provides support and assistance to co-workers. Assists in the orientation of new staff.
QualificationsGraduate of an accredited school of Licensed Nursing.Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state.Knowledge and compliance with applicable Joint Commission, Federal, State, and agency laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive patient and hospital information.Ability to delegate, resolve conflicts, handle individual and group interactions, time management, critical thinking skills and stress management.Strong interpersonal skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficient computer and keyboard skills.Excellent Telephone and customer service skillsOrganizational, priority setting and problem solving skills.Ability to provide service to a diverse population of patients, and the ability to communicate and work with people from a variety of age-groups, social strata and ethnic background.Pay Range$35.18 - $51.01 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
