Accounting Manager

Direct Placement Accounting Manager opportunity with a company based in Omaha.Description:Lead, develop and mentor team of 3-5 accountants and clerical personnel.

Responsible for General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functional areas.

Oversee period end close functions and reporting.

Accounting, reporting and overview of capital expenditures.

Prepare period end journal entries and account reconciliations.

Research and resolve any issues identified as a result of the period end process.

Perform analytical review of financial results against the plan/forecast and report results to management.

Manage organizational cash flow, reporting and forecasting.

Partner with IT on reporting capabilities and process improvement initiatives.

Install analytic processes for strategic company initiatives and product launches.

Pursue appropriate and needed automation opportunities.

Implement and execute a robust annual pipeline of continuous improvement initiatives.

Assists with the annual budgeting and planning process.

Partner with internal department heads to provide timely, accurately and useful information for business decision strategic initiatives.

Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedures.

Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and internal business partners.

Continuously review processes to ensure GAAP principles are in place.

Skills:Accounting, General ledger, Financial reporting, management skills, Month end, manufacturing environment, microsoft dynamics gp, certified public accountantAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Bachelors in accounting/business/finance required

MBA or CPA highly preferred

6+ years management/supervisory experience over accounting functions

Supply chain/food/manufacturing industry experience highly preferred

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred

Good tenure / longevity in prior roles required

Ability to adapt

Great communication skills
